Which Zaon receiver is compatible with WingX Pro7?

The Zaon XRX is the only compatible receiver.

How do I connect the Zaon XRX traffic receiver to WingX Pro7?

You will need a WiFi adapter from serialio.com - the adapter is called the "WiSnap Standard (Male)" and sells for about $99. The adapter can also be purchased from iFlyTools. The WiFi adapter is powered by the Zaon XRX receiver and does not need external power.

Do I need to upgrade my Zaon XRX receiver for WingX Pro7?

No.

Setup Instructions

To setup the Zaon XRX Receiver and WiFi Adapter:
  1. Turn off the Zaon XRX.
  2. Connect the WiFi adapter to the back of the Zaon XRX.
  3. Turn on the Zaon XRX.
  4. Change the Zaon XRX to Profile 2.
  5. The WiFi adapter LEDs should start to flash.
  6. Connect to the WiFi network - go to iPad's Settings, Wi-Fi. Under Choose a Network, select WiFly or WiSnap. Wait about 30 seconds for the iPad to connect.
  7. On WingX Pro7's Moving Map page, tap on the down arrow (top-right), select External Hardware, then select Zaon to see the Zaon XRX Diagnostics page.
  8. If the Data Received status on the Zaon Diagnostics page in WingX Pro7 is red, tap on the Configure WiFi adapter button. The blue light on the WiFi Adapter should flash briefly.
  9. The Data Received status should turn green and the WiFi adapter's blue light should be flashing about once per second.
